## Key takeaways

- The top 100 players on each server will share $2,500 worth of GBFG.
- Eligibility requires at least 10 ranked matches; the free starter Hero can be used.
- GBFG is an in-game currency. The new BFG token’s launch date and conversion terms remain unannounced.

M-Tech Entertainment’s five-versus-five game is available in the browser after a three-day delay. Its Launch Season runs through November 1 on European and Southeast Asian servers.

[GameFi](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/gamefi) project Battle For Giostone has opened its browser version for PC and mobile devices, with no download required. In its [October 18 announcement](https://battleforgiostone.com/news/launch-week-leaderboard.html), M-Tech Entertainment said the game had arrived three days later than promised and introduced a two-week Launch Season. The advertised $5,000 prize pool will be paid in the game’s GBFG currency rather than cash.

The studio’s [September 11 rebuilding announcement](https://battleforgiostone.com/news/the-stone-wakes.html) said it would retain five-versus-five team battles. Players choose abilities for their Hero’s four equipment slots. Thirty-minute matches feature a shrinking arena in the final stage and three appearances by Gio, alongside a contest over three stones. The browser rebuild follows the project’s early testing period, which began in 2022.

## Separate leaderboards and prizes on two servers

The season began when the game went live on October 18 and runs until November 1. The top 100 players on the European (EU) server and the top 100 on the Southeast Asian (SEA) server will each share $2,500 worth of GBFG. Players must complete at least 10 ranked matches during the season. Any owned Hero can be used, including the free Hero provided at signup.

Leaderboard positions are determined by MMR, the rating that rises with ranked wins and falls with losses. According to the [game’s FAQ](https://battleforgiostone.com/faq/), the first 10 ranked matches of a season are placements; players remain labelled “Unplaced” until these are complete. Matchmaking groups players by mode, region and rating. When too few people are online, matches may include AI players.

Per-player prize distribution on the EU and SEA servers
| Rank on each server | Dollar value of GBFG prize per player |
|---|---|
| 1st | $400 |
| 2nd | $250 |
| 3rd | $150 |
| 4th–5th | $100 |
| 6th–10th | $60 |
| 11th–20th | $35 |
| 21st–50th | $15 |
| 51st–100th | $8 |

The team says prizes will be credited directly to game accounts after the two weeks end, without specifying an exact payment time. Separate from the seasonal prizes, regular match rewards are 250 GBFG for a ranked win and 25 GBFG for an unranked win. A loss pays nothing.

## GBFG is in-game currency; BFG comes later

The project’s [tokenomics page](https://battleforgiostone.com/tokenomics/) explicitly states that GBFG is not [a token](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/coin-vs-token) on any [blockchain](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/blockchain). Players can use it to forge Heroes and offer those Heroes on the marketplace. Under the published model, sellers set the price and keep 95% of the proceeds; the remaining 5% is the marketplace fee. One quarter of that fee goes to the studio and three quarters to the Community Treasury.

**Conversion terms are still pending.** The team says GBFG balances will be convertible into the new BFG token when it launches. It has not published a conversion rate, opening date or detailed terms, and makes no commitment to dollar withdrawals for current game balances.

The new BFG token has a planned [total supply](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/crypto-supply-types) of 150 million. Allocations include 20% for player rewards, 15% for an ecosystem fund supporting tournaments and game development, and 1.5% for an airdrop fund. Together, those three allocations amount to 54.75 million BFG. The token release schedule will be published at launch.

In its [October 18 token update](https://battleforgiostone.com/news/bfg-tokenomics.html), the team says holders of the old BFG token will receive the same amount of the new token as they still hold, while Genesis Heroes will return to their owners. The same statement says the new BFG token is not on sale and that [offers made before an announcement](https://kriptometa.com/en/crypto-phishing-fake-token-checks) on the official website and X account are not from the project.

The team’s X post below announces browser access and the two-week season, accompanied by a short studio promotional clip. It was posted on October 18 UTC, corresponding to 00:28 on October 19 in Türkiye.
