## Key takeaways

- VELODROME/USDT spot trading will end at 03:00 UTC on November 3.
- Each VELODROME will convert into 0.044 AERO; existing AERO will convert one for one.
- The protocol’s October 22 UTC launch and Binance’s November schedule are separate.

Binance will handle token conversions for its users as Velodrome and Aerodrome merge. Existing AERO will also be replaced one for one, while its current spot and perpetual futures markets remain available.

[Binance](https://kriptometa.com/en/binance-review) has [announced support for the token conversion](https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/detail/a88495062d5947e895999cf73fa8bce1) accompanying Velodrome Finance’s merger with Aerodrome. In its October 16 notice, the exchange said it will remove VELODROME/USDT at 03:00 UTC on November 3, 2026, cancelling outstanding spot orders. Existing AERO spot pairs and the AEROUSDT perpetual futures contract will remain tradable.

Each VELODROME token will convert into 0.044 AERO, while existing AERO will be replaced with the new token at a one-to-one ratio. At the stated rate, 1,000 VELODROME corresponds to 44 AERO. That calculation concerns token units; it does not fix their market value.

## When will deposits and withdrawals stop?

Deposits and withdrawals for both tokens will be suspended at 03:30 UTC on November 3. Binance will stop supporting VELODROME deposits and withdrawals after the conversion. It has not announced when transfers of the new AERO will reopen and will issue a separate notice.

Other products have earlier deadlines. VELODROME margin borrowing stops at 06:00 UTC on October 20. On October 28, loan positions close at 03:00 UTC; new VELODROMEUSDT perpetual positions are blocked from 08:30 UTC, followed by automatic settlement at 09:00 UTC. Cross and isolated margin pairs will be removed at 10:00 UTC that day.

Support for VELODROME Simple Earn Flexible Products ends at 07:00 UTC on November 2, with balances and accrued rewards redeemed to spot accounts. Binance says it will resubscribe converted AERO assets to Flexible Products after 08:00 UTC on November 6. The exchange will handle the technical conversion requirements for affected users.

## Aero’s launch precedes Binance’s conversion

Aerodrome and Velodrome are preparing to combine their liquidity networks under Aero. The project’s [upgrade hub](https://aero.xyz/aero-upgrade/) sets the launch for October 21 at 8:00 p.m. EDT, or October 22 at 00:00 UTC. Existing token emissions will end as new AERO rewards begin and upgrade portals open.

**Self-custodied tokens follow a separate process.** Binance’s conversion for customers does not cover assets in personal wallets. The project says [self-custody](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/custodial-non-custodial-wallet) users will initiate their upgrade through the official Aerodrome or Velodrome portals.

The project allocates 94.5% of the new supply to Aerodrome holders and 5.5% to Velodrome holders. Its launch estimate puts the maximum [total supply](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/crypto-supply-types) at roughly 2.127 billion AERO, noting that tokens not upgraded will never enter the new circulation. Binance’s announcement uses rounded figures: total supply rising from 2 billion to 2.12 billion, and circulating supply from 1 billion to 1.07 billion.

Locked veAERO and veVELO positions can be converted into new sAERO positions. Holders of sAERO will be able to direct AERO rewards to [liquidity pools](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/liquidity-pool) and receive a share of their trading revenue.

Aero’s October 16 post brings together the upgrade hub and transition guides for both protocols.
