## Key takeaways

- Doge Museum announced its Chikyū testnet opening on October 8.
- Secondary sales carry a 5% marketplace fee plus any royalty set by the collection.
- Test DOGE has no monetary value; the Dogeolith mainnet distribution has yet to happen.

Creators and collectors can try minting, listing and offers using test DOGE. The platform’s documentation sets out its fee structure and plans for a future Dogeolith distribution.

Doge Museum opened its [NFT marketplace](https://kriptometa.com/en/news/nft) on DogeOS to test users on October 8. The project says minting, listing, buying and selling are available on Chikyū, the network’s test environment. The opening is not a DogeOS mainnet launch.

Incubated by SofaLab, the platform combines a marketplace for existing collections with a launchpad for new ones. Creators can arrange mint phases with different prices and per-wallet limits. According to the project’s documentation, ownership of a deployed collection contract stays with the creator’s wallet, which controls royalties and allowlists.

Purchases and mints use the network’s native test DOGE. Offers use its wrapped form, WDOGE, which allows the balance to be spent through a smart contract. The app handles wrapping when needed. The [network and token documentation](https://doge.museum/docs/introduction/network-and-tokens) also says USDT cannot yet be selected in the interface; support for multiple currencies is planned for a later update.

Test DOGE has no monetary value. Prices and sales displayed in the test marketplace cannot be treated as trading volume settled in real DOGE.

## A 5% sales fee, with royalties set by collection

The [fee documentation](https://doge.museum/docs/marketplace/fees-and-royalties) lists a **5% marketplace fee** on secondary sales. [Creator royalties](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/nft-creator-royalties) vary by collection, with 2.5% described as the standard rate. Older collections deployed without royalty support do not pay a royalty.

Both deductions come out of the sale price. In a hypothetical sale for 100 test DOGE with a 2.5% royalty, the marketplace receives 5 test DOGE and the creator receives 2.5. The seller’s share is 92.5 test DOGE before network costs. A buyer’s [network fee](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/gas-network-fees) is separate from the listed price.

The collection contract supplies the royalty recipient and amount under the EIP-2981 standard; payment takes place in the same transaction as the sale. Primary mints follow a separate fee structure. The launchpad’s platform share defaults to zero but can be agreed for each project, so the 5% resale charge is not a universal rate for every action.

## Dogeolith distribution awaits mainnet

The opening announcement also teased a collection called Dogeolith. Its [documentation](https://doge.museum/docs/introduction/the-dogeolith) says wallets holding the testnet NFT at a future snapshot will receive a mainnet version when DogeOS launches its mainnet. The exact snapshot block is to be announced later. The documents reviewed do not give a calendar date for mainnet.

Dogeolith’s testnet token price is listed as zero, but mint, protocol and network fees are shown separately. A zero token price does not eliminate the [total cost of the transaction](https://kriptometa.com/en/nft-buying-checklist). On October 9, the marketplace homepage still labelled the collection “coming soon”; the announcement does not report a completed distribution.

DogeOS announced the opening of its public testnet in a [September 30 release](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/09/30/3372073/0/en/DogeOS-Opens-Public-Testnet-as-Builders-Bring-New-Apps-to-Dogecoin.html). The environment supports developers using Ethereum-compatible tools to build and test applications before mainnet.
