Genius Group has restarted [Bitcoin](https://kriptometa.com/en/markets/bitcoin) purchases, acquiring 10 BTC between October 2 and 5. The AI-powered education company said in its October 6 announcement that it paid approximately $854,000, at an [average cost](https://kriptometa.com/en/tools/crypto-average-cost-calculator) of $85,364 per Bitcoin.

The [purchase announcement](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/10/06/3375418/0/en/genius-group-recommences-bitcoin-treasury-purchases.html) marks another step in the NYSE American-listed company’s strategy of holding both Bitcoin and AI assets. The 10 BTC figure describes the latest acquisition; the release does not give an updated total for the company’s Bitcoin treasury.

CEO Roger James Hamilton emphasized the resumption of accumulation rather than the size of the purchase. In the announcement, he said:

> “We are recommencing our Bitcoin accumulation strategy.”

Hamilton also described the timing as what he believes to be the early stages of Bitcoin’s next major uptrend. That is management’s market outlook, rather than evidence that the newly acquired coins will produce a profit.

## Court restriction was lifted in August

The removal of the legal restriction predates the October purchases. According to the company’s [September 2 statement](https://ir.geniusgroup.net/news-events/press-releases/detail/256/u-s-court-of-appeals-officially-vacates-injunction), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit vacated an injunction on August 31 that had restricted share issuance, fundraising and Bitcoin purchases.

The injunction had been issued in March 2025 in a dispute between Genius Group and LZG International. The company’s account of the decision also says the matter was remanded to the district court for further proceedings. Lifting the injunction therefore should not be read as the end of every legal proceeding between the parties.

**The ruling and the purchase have different dates.** The court decision was dated August 31; the new Bitcoin transactions took place on October 2–5. October 6 is the date the company disclosed the purchases.

## How further purchases would be funded

Genius Group intends to continue accumulating Bitcoin alongside investments in AI companies. Management plans to use operating cash flow, its previously announced plans to issue perpetual preferred securities, and an at-the-market, or ATM, program that allows it to sell shares into the market.

The company says it currently has no plans to finance purchases with debt or to pledge its Bitcoin and AI shares as collateral. These are stated funding intentions, rather than a commitment to a specific amount or timetable for the next acquisition.
