The new event offers Free and Premium reward tracks. Progress comes through Ranked Gauntlet matches, with the event ending October 27 at 00:00 UTC. [GameFi](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/gamefi) title Illuvium Arena launched its Abyssal Chasm event with version 1.18.8 on October 7. Players unlock rewards through matches and missions, with a Free Track alongside a Premium option costing 800 Fuel. The event closes on October 27 at 00:00 UTC. The team’s [official X announcement](https://x.com/illuviumio/status/2107821613643436127) confirms that the update is live. Under the [event rules](https://portal.illuvium.io/news/arena/abyssal-chasm-event-pass-illuvium-arena), only Ranked Gauntlet matches contribute points and mission progress; unranked matches do not count. Time spent playing therefore does not translate into event progress in every mode. ## How the Free and Premium tracks differ Every player can use the Free Track. Premium adds character rewards, experience boosts and cosmetics. Rewards unlock as total Arena Points reach specified thresholds, so buying the pass alone does not immediately unlock everything on its track. In the mission breakdown [reported by eGamers.io](https://egamers.io/illuvium-arena-v1-18-8-is-live-with-the-abyssal-chasm-event-pass-running-19-days/), a free daily mission awards 5 points and a weekly mission 20. Premium missions award 10 and 40 respectively. The report also puts Fuel rewards at a combined 50 on the free path and 200 on the Premium path. **Entry cost and prizes are separate.** The 800 Fuel figure is the Premium pass price. The tournament’s $500 ILV pool is shared among placed competitors, rather than promised to every participant. ## ILV tournament set for October 18 and 25 Sylen’s Challengers Series #2 requires the Premium pass. Opening matches take place on October 18 and the finals on October 25, both starting at 19:00 UTC. Registration is first come, first served, with a backup list. The top eight will share $500 worth of ILV, including $200 worth for the winner. Progressing along an event reward track and placing in a tournament are distinct conditions: one depends on accumulated progress, the other on a competitive result. Illuvium’s October 4, 2026 broadcast of the first series final is linked below to show how the competition is presented. It documents the previous tournament, not a test of the new event or footage of the second series, which has yet to take place.
