## Key takeaways

- The October 23 notice extends the warning for EGLD/KRW, EGLD/BTC and EGLD/USDT to November 16–20, 2026.
- Upbit’s October 24 service table shows EGLD withdrawals available, deposits suspended and normal block production.
- The exchange may lift or extend the warning or end trading support after its review. It has not announced a final delisting.

Upbit wants more time to assess MultiversX’s explanations and security measures. Three EGLD trading pairs remain under warning, while withdrawals reopened on October 6 and remain available.

South Korean [crypto exchange](https://kriptometa.com/en/best-crypto-exchanges) Upbit has extended its investment warning for MultiversX’s EGLD token to the week of November 16–20, 2026. In its [October 23 notice](https://www.upbit.com/service_center/notice?id=207379109&view=share), the exchange said it had reviewed the project’s explanations and would examine further responses and the measures taken. The decision covers EGLD/KRW, EGLD/BTC and EGLD/USDT.

Upbit has not announced an end to EGLD trading. The exchange will use the additional time to decide whether to extend or lift the warning or end trading support. The notice was published at 15:00 Korea Standard Time on October 23, equivalent to 06:00 UTC.

## The review now runs to November 16–20

Upbit first designated EGLD for caution on September 21 and set an initial review window ending in the week of October 19–23. The exchange extended the deadline on the final day of the initial review. Upbit did not list which answers it considered insufficient or which additional documents it had requested.

November 16–20 is a review window. Upbit has not set a definite delisting date or a time for reopening deposits. Under the initial notice, the exchange will publish a separate schedule if it extends the review or ends trading support. Trading support may end if the reasons for the warning are not fully resolved.

The verified Upbit account’s October 23 post lists the same three pairs and November 16–20 window. Its English reply also confirms that the warning period has been extended.

## Withdrawals are available; deposits remain suspended

Upbit’s [notice updated at 13:37 KST on October 6](https://www.upbit.com/service_center/notice?id=1201230519&view=share) says EGLD withdrawals on the MultiversX network reopened. Deposits did not reopen that day because the investment warning remained in place. The withdrawal update was posted at 04:37 UTC.

We checked the EGLD row in Upbit’s [official deposit and withdrawal table](https://www.upbit.com/service_center/wallet_status) at 04:12 UTC on October 24. It showed withdrawal-only access, normal MultiversX block status and an investment-warning designation. The table records service availability at the time of the check; it can change later.

**Available withdrawals do not mean deposits have reopened.** Upbit warns that EGLD sent after deposit support was suspended may not be credited and may be impossible to recover. Normal block production alone does not confirm that the exchange accepts deposits; reopening requires a separate service announcement.

## The initial warning cited a security incident

In its [September 21 warning](https://www.upbit.com/service_center/notice?id=1371609420&view=share), Upbit cited security incidents such as hacks with unresolved or unidentified causes that had harmed, or could harm, users. The notice covers the asset itself, [wallets](https://kriptometa.com/en/glossary/crypto-wallet) managed by its issuer or operator, and distributed ledgers on which it is issued, transferred or stored. Upbit referred to the relevant security provision in Article 17 of the enforcement decree of South Korea’s Virtual Asset User Protection Act.

Upbit suspended deposits and withdrawals on September 19 because MultiversX had stopped producing blocks. Its notice said EGLD trading would continue without interruption during the suspension.

## When does an onchain transfer reach an exchange account?

Upbit’s deposit conditions do not guarantee that [a transfer completed onchain](https://kriptometa.com/en/track-crypto-transaction) will be credited to an exchange account at the same time. Network congestion, wallet maintenance or unexpected checks may delay the exchange’s credit to a user’s account. Transfers reaching the network during maintenance may need further checks before the exchange processes them in sequence after service resumes.

Upbit says it will not credit deposits made after the initial warning notice and will treat them as transfers to be returned. The exchange also suspends returns while deposits are unavailable and says it will return transfers in sequence after deposit support resumes. Upbit still cautions that it may be unable to recover a mistaken deposit, even when the transfer falls within its return procedure.

Our [October 4 EGLD report](https://kriptometa.com/en/egld-kraken-reopens-upbit-review-continues) recorded both deposits and withdrawals as suspended at Upbit, with the initial review still underway. The October 6 withdrawal reopening and October 23 extension into November are two separate changes announced since then. Upbit’s own network and service notices remain the source for current access conditions.
