Key takeaways

  • The new offering covers tokens backed by shares in 12 US companies.
  • Trades run on Solana and settle in USDC.
  • NYSE and OKXICE connections depend on trading venues that have yet to launch.

Apple, Nvidia and Tesla are among the companies in the new offering. Investors need identity checks and an approved wallet; round-the-clock trading remains a plan.

Securitize announced tokenized trading for shares in 12 US companies on October 8. The products, called Securitize Stocks, initially trade on Solana through the company’s registered broker-dealer platform. The company says each token is backed one-for-one by an underlying share.

The new group covers Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, SpaceX, Strategy and Palantir. The product website also lists Securitize’s own SECZ shares, which were tokenized earlier and sit outside the new twelve-company offering. Transactions settle in USDC.

What rights does a token holder receive?

This tokenization structure is designed to go beyond a contract that simply tracks a stock’s price. Each token represents a security entitlement under UCC Article 8. Securitize says the structure preserves applicable dividends and voting rights where the underlying share class carries them. The shares backing the tokens will not be lent out.

CEO Carlos Domingo said tokenized stocks should give investors “more than a price”. Passing economic rights to a token holder, however, is different from recording that person directly on the issuing company’s shareholder register.

Direct share ownership is conditional. Securitize’s disclosure says token holders are not registered shareholders of the underlying issuer unless they convert. Conversion depends on the company adopting issuer-sponsored tokenization and the necessary arrangements being available. The underlying companies have not sponsored or endorsed these products.

Trading hours and fees are now specified

Access is limited to eligible investors in the United States, European Union and other permitted jurisdictions. Investors must open an account, complete identity checks and connect a wallet they control. Securitize then approves the address; securities can move only between approved wallets on the platform. A globally distributed blockchain therefore does not mean every investor or wallet is eligible.

The platform’s current trading conditions also show that round-the-clock trading is not available at launch:

Securitize Stocks trading terms, October 8, 2026
ConditionPublished terms on October 8
Trading hours4:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. US Eastern Time
Platform fee0.10% of the trade amount, charged in USDC
Network costGas charges associated with execution are included in the platform fee
Price protection band0.10% adverse movement from the quoted price; an order is rejected beyond that limit

Using the time-zone offset in effect on October 8, those hours correspond to 11:00 a.m. through 12:30 a.m. the following day in Turkey. The 0.10% fee and the equally sized price protection band serve different purposes: one is a charge, while the other sets the allowed adverse price movement before rejection.

NYSE and Aave access remains a future plan

Jump Trading will act as a market maker to support initial liquidity. Beyond trading on its own platform, Securitize plans connections to the digital venue being developed by the NYSE and to OKXICE. Neither venue has launched. Those connections depend on regulatory approvals, venue review and operational requirements, and may not happen.

Use in lending and collateral markets such as Aave is another function intended to develop over time. The pledge not to lend out the underlying shares is separate from plans for the tokens themselves to gain lending uses. The announcement does not establish that investors can already borrow against all twelve products on Aave.

For background on asset selection, rights and legal preparation, Securitize’s short explainer published on February 1, 2024 outlines the tokenization process. It predates the new offering and is not a tutorial for today’s product or a statement of its current trading terms.
