What is PancakeSwap?
PancakeSwap is a decentralized finance protocol providing token swaps and liquidity services across multiple blockchains. Users can prepare transactions through its web interface and a compatible wallet; the swap route depends on the available pools and liquidity sources.
Is PancakeSwap the same as CAKE?
PancakeSwap names the product and protocol, while CAKE is a token used in its ecosystem. Buying CAKE is different from exchanging other tokens through PancakeSwap. Readers seeking current market data can use the CAKE price page; the protocol’s definition does not establish its token’s value.
Trading fees and output depend on the network, pool type, liquidity and trade size. Finding a token in the interface does not mean it is safe or can always be sold.
Example
Suppose Jordan wants to exchange a small part of a BNB balance for CAKE on BNB Chain. PancakeSwap can display an estimated output and route. If the wallet-authorized transaction executes successfully, the BNB balance falls, the CAKE balance rises and a network cost is incurred. Viewing a quote is not yet a trade; network choice, asset identity and the slippage limit affect the result.
Our PancakeSwap review follows the real network selector and the fields for minimum output, price impact and trading fees.
