What is a crypto trading bot?

Added:

A crypto trading bot is software that submits buy or sell orders when a predefined condition, such as a price or indicator signal, is met. It can run within an exchange or connect to an exchange account through an API. Automating execution does not guarantee a profit.

Example: a trigger is not an execution price

Suppose a rule says: “When ETH reaches 2,000 USDT, submit a market purchase worth 100 USDT, once only.” The condition triggers the order. If it fills at 2,002 USDT, the purchase is approximately 0.04995 ETH before fees. The trigger and fill prices need not match.

Without an execution limit, a condition may generate repeated orders. Maximum repetitions, allocated funds and stopping conditions belong to the rule itself.

What can the bot access?

An API-connected bot acts within its granted permissions. Disabling withdrawals does not prevent harmful trades made with trading access. Deleting the key removes access but does not automatically sell assets already purchased.
