What is a liquid restaking token (LRT)?
A liquid restaking token (LRT) represents a restaking position and can be transferred or traded where supported. Liquidity does not promise immediate, loss-free withdrawal of its underlying assets.
A liquid staking claim relates to base-network staking; a restaking position can add service obligations. The actual contract and allocation structure determines the exposure.
Example: represented value versus sale proceeds
Suppose 10 hypothetical LRTs represent a claim valued at 10 ETH. If the market pays only 0.98 ETH per token, selling returns 9.8 ETH before costs. A protocol’s displayed redemption value is not a guarantee of the price available in a simultaneous market sale. Redemption has its own timing and possible loss conditions.
Token quantity alone does not measure rewards. The ether.fi contract overview distinguishes rebasing eETH from its non-rebasing wrapper, weETH. A fixed token count can represent a changing amount. The worked figures are not a current quote for either token.
The restaking entry explains the additional duty. Our risk checklist assesses market exits and withdrawal conditions together.
