Crypto glossary
What is Trust Wallet?
Trust Wallet is a self-custody crypto wallet used to manage assets on supported blockchain networks and connect to applications. In standard use, the user is responsible for the account's keys and recovery arrangements. It is not a bank account whose access can always be restored through a password reset.
Are the app, assets and token the same thing?
Crypto asset records live on blockchains. Trust Wallet displays balances and provides an interface for transactions you authorize. TWT is a separate token, not the application itself; buying it is not required for ordinary wallet use. Our crypto wallet definition explains the relationship between keys, addresses and balances.
Example
Alex sees 50 USDT on Ethereum in Trust Wallet. A friend accepts USDT only on BNB Smart Chain. Seeing the token in the app is not enough to make the transfer compatible: the networks differ. Displaying a token on another network does not move it there; a suitable transfer or cross-chain route must be considered separately.
Traditional phrase-based accounts and SWIFT passkey accounts can have different recovery paths. Before changing devices, identify the account model rather than relying on the application name alone.
Our Trust Wallet review examines how network compatibility, recovery and net swap costs affect the choice, using official screens and a worked cost example.
