The Sandbox’s current homepage centres on Studio. We followed an open Farmadillo demo into its help panel and game area, while keeping game creation, asset compatibility and earnings claims outside what that short trial proves.
The Sandbox’s current Studio presentation focuses on game creation and shareable games. Our first question was whether the promotional page led to an accessible game screen. In Farmadillo, we reached the help panel and game area without creating an account or connecting a wallet. We did not test Studio’s production quality, paid services or reward withdrawals in the same session.
Observation date: September 26, 2026. This review covers the public web interface, a short demo trial and official documentation. It does not include a completed game round, a device performance benchmark, a Studio beta account, a purchase or a token transfer. Older metaverse documentation is treated separately from the current Studio flow.
What is different about the Studio presentation?
The current homepage introduces an AI-assisted Studio workflow and beta access. The game gallery is a more concrete starting point than the sales copy: visitors can open an example and inspect its entry experience. One accessible game does not validate every claim made about the creation tool.
Actual homepage captured on September 26, 2026, showing Studio and beta access. Product marketing is not evidence that we completed a game-development test.
Carrying an old Game Maker tutorial or LAND assumption into the new interface could send a reader down the wrong path. Accounts, project formats and asset compatibility may differ even when the brand name is unchanged. The first review criterion is therefore which product version and user task the evidence concerns.
Following the Farmadillo entry flow
- We opened the Farmadillo Play link in the homepage gallery.
- The public game address loaded its opening screen. We dismissed the cookie choice and advanced the introduction.
- The How to play panel described farming and pinball phases. Closing it revealed the game area.
- Clicking in the field changed the character’s position. We stopped the brief trial there; we are not claiming a completed level or an earned reward.
The real Farmadillo help panel explains its farming and pinball phases. Viewing the instructions does not mean we completed all those phases.
Reaching a playable area without payment or a wallet is a tangible advantage for someone exploring the product. Help accessible from the game area makes the initial controls easier to find. We have not assigned scores for loading time, frame rate or lower-powered devices because we did not measure them.
The game area reached during the short trial. The “$80” display is an in-game value, not a verified bank balance, SAND reward or cash withdrawal.
Players, creators and asset holders need different evidence
| Task | Evidence observed | Decision limit |
|---|---|---|
| Try a game | Farmadillo entry, help and game area opened | Not a verdict on the full game or catalogue |
| Create a game | Studio presentation and beta invitation | Editor, production time and export were not tested |
| Use an existing NFT | Older metaverse documentation remains accessible | Studio compatibility needs asset-specific verification |
| Earn income | An in-game score is displayed | A score is not a verified reward claim or payment |
A player may have enough evidence to begin exploring a free demo. For a creator, that demo is only an example of an output: opening, saving, editing and publishing a project still need evaluation. An asset holder should not assume an older NFT works in every new game merely because the brand is the same.
Where LAND and SAND need separate checks
The official metaverse documentation describes experiences and event conditions, while its Alpha Season 6 page concerns a particular season. We do not apply those eligibility flows automatically to the current Studio demo. A historical reward page does not prove that a reward programme is open today.
LAND is a digital land asset in the ecosystem, not physical real estate. SAND is a token, not the game itself or a company share. Holding an asset in a wallet does not remove the need to verify that a new game supports it. Our NFT rights and metadata checklist explains the wider distinction between an ownership record and the service using it.
What can we establish about cost?
We made no payment or blockchain transaction in the Farmadillo flow we inspected. That does not show that every Studio creator feature is free indefinitely. A beta invitation cannot establish a subscription price, asset licence or commercial publishing permission.
A creator needs a cost breakdown before committing: account plan, any generation credits, image and audio licences, hosting and distribution. Unknown costs should stay marked unknown rather than becoming a fictitious zero-cost total. For players, deciding whether to spend comes after assessing the demo.
Who has enough evidence to take the next step?
Players looking to discover games without an initial purchase have a useful starting point in the open gallery and the demo we accessed. Reaching a product example without buying a token was the strongest directly observed benefit.
Creators choosing a production tool need more than the presentation. A useful comparison would build the same small game idea in the Studio beta and an engine they already use, then compare editing, output rights and distribution. We have not tested another engine or declared it faster; that is the task a meaningful comparison would need to cover.
People seeking regular earnings or an automatic use for existing LAND do not have enough evidence from this demo. Cash conversion, asset support and ongoing eligibility require separate verification. Product experience and token expectations should not be compressed into a single verdict.
The Sandbox definition briefly separates the product and asset names. For applying the same decision criteria to other games, the Web3 game evaluation guide combines gameplay, rights and cost checks.
A playable product and sustainable token demand are separate questions. Our player demand and reward economics analysis examines the second through the relationship between users, rewards and revenue.
